Get Outside Your Box of Limitation
Monday, November 2, 2009 at 6:09AM I am soooo excited about the things that God is doing across the United States and around the world through Celebrate Recovery! If you want to see the bigger picture on a regular basis, visit the Facebook National Celebrate Recovery site and read the entries! Just last night, as I was reading the Celebrate Recovery Facebook entries, tears welled up in my eyes. I was reading the personal testimonies of how God had intervened in so many desperate circumstances and how new ministries are being started all over the country! We serve a big God who is doing big things! Lives are being changed one by one! Cities are being changed, one life at a time!
If you need to catch some more vision to inspire and motivate you, come to a One Day Seminar and listen to Pastor John cast vision in the Seven Keys or listen to our seasoned leaders teach in the Advanced Leadership Seminar! Sit around the table with a CR Ministry leader who has seen lives changed and is passionate about CR! You won't be the same!
We all get complacent at times! Should I say that we all have the tendency to get comfortable in our lives? We grow for a time and then we get used to that new place where we are and settle into that comfortable place! But, is that what God wants us to do? In Phillipians 3:14, Paul says that he "pressed" toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (niv) Paul continually pressed forward! His life shows how he did not quit or even slow down!
I want to be a person who continually grows in the Lord and is used for His purposes more and more! I don't want to be an observer, but a participant! It is up to me! I must always be listening and obedient to the Holy Spirit. God will give me ideas, he will give me opportunities and put people in my pathway, if I am listening. Until I hear something new, I do the things I know to do to the best of my ability and consistently. I do my part and God is faithful to do His! Phillipians 4:13 says, "...reaching forth unto those things which are before." (niv)
Where you have settled comfortably is your box of limitation! Let God take off the limitations and stretch you. I believe that your tent pegs can be expanded even more! God is not through with us! We are not quitters! Phillipians 1:6 says, "Being confident of this very thing, that He which began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." (niv)
Blessings to each of you as we serve our Mighty God!
Paula
